LEVEL 4: POST GRADUATE/COMMUNITY
This level will serve as the support system upon which the rest of the program will be based. This support system will be made up of former Lancaster wrestlers, parents of current and former Lancaster wrestlers, as well as various service organizations and supporters of wrestling in the city of Lancaster . There will be two primary manifestations of this level; The Lancaster Mat Club and The Tornado Wrestling Club.
The Lancaster Mat Club will act in two ways. The first role of the mat club will be to provide the volunteers necessary to run various programs and activities, such as the Level 1 Elementary Program and The Tornado Wrestling Club, as well as the season kick off gatherings, end of season banquets, and various other social activities and service projects. The Lancaster Mat Club has been recognized by the Lancaster Drug and Alcohol Commission for its drug free programming on three different occasions. "You Have A Choice" is an assembly that has been presented as a "Red Ribbon" celebration at local elementary schools and dances with the focus being on good decision making skills and drug free alternatives.
The second role of the mat club will be to raise funds to help run the previously mentioned programs and activities, as well as to provide other opportunities to our athletes, such as summer camps for athletic and social benefits, national and international competitions, and possible scholarships for athletes who continue to compete in college. Funds will be acquired through fundraising, donations, grants, and business partnerships. In January of 2008, the mat club continues to work on achieving its tax exempt status. Eventually, the mat club will be independently run by parents and post graduates, with the guidance and backing of our coaching staff. Decisions for this club will be made by a board of directors at regularly scheduled board meetings.
